Education & Outreach
The Office of Research Compliance (ORC) is committed to increasing our presence and availability to the TCU research community. Our education and outreach program started in Fall 2022. Whether it’s Cayuse or TCU policy updates, to any changes in federal regulations, you can now be well informed about all things from your ORC as it is related to human subject research. We will have several opportunities for faculty and students to receive IRB education and training. These include the IRB 101 – Bootcamp, IRB Office Hours, Human Research Protection Learning Series, and Consultation/ Classroom Education Requests.
IRB 101 – Cayuse Bootcamp
*This training session will be offered every semester*
Come learn about the IRB and the specific processes involved for human subject research. We will also offer a Cayuse Boot Camp to help familiarize you with the online system before you prepare your submissions for review and approval.
Fall 2023 – The IRB 101 training session will be held in person in
Rees-Jones Hall, Room 113 on September 15th from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
IRB Office Hours
The TCU Office of Research Compliance will offer IRB office hours for faculty, research staff, and students. Bring your IRB questions or inquiries about the new online submission system, Cayuse. The TCU research community will have one opportunity each month to meet with ORC staff face-to-face and assist with your research needs.
In addition, the ORC will also hold office hours at the Burnett School of Medicine, on the third Monday of each month, which started in the Summer of 2023, for all Medical students and clinical faculty. For clinical faculty who are unable to attend IRB office hours, we welcome you to request a one-on-one meeting with ORC staff you can submit your request below.
IRB office hours will start September 5, 2023, and be held in Tucker Technology Center, Room 353 every first Tuesday (3 pm-5 pm).
